Astros Roll Past Rays; Rangers Fall to Mariners Late

HOUSTON (AP) – Jake Marisnick had three hits, including two homers, and a career-high five RBIs as the Houston Astros coasted to a 14-7 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays cut the lead to 1 after a two-run homer by Corey Dickerson in the third inning before an RBI single by Tyler White made it 4-2 with two outs in the bottom of the inning. Marisnick’s first shot _ a three-run homer which bounced off the wall above the seats in left field _ came next to push the lead to 7-2.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Robinson Cano had a two-run single in the ninth and the Seattle Mariners won 6-4 at Texas, only hours after the Rangers had traded pitcher Yu Darvish. The Mariners trailed 4-0 after two innings before getting even against Cole Hamels, the remaining ace for Texas now that Darvish is with the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rangers struck out 13 times against four pitchers. They had five hits the first two innings against Felix Hernandez and only one hit the rest of the game.
