Arrests On Charges Of Assaulting A Bryan Police Officer, Driving A Stolen Truck, And Causing A Four Vehicle Crash While Driving Drunk

A Bryan police officer who determines the window tint on a car that was too dark winds up getting cut in the face by the driver. That leads to the driver going to jail for the 17th time in 18 years. The BPD arrest report says 42 year old Erica Salazar of College Station scratched the officer in the face with her car key, resisting arrest where it took the assistance of several other officers, and driving with an invalid license with a prior conviction. Salazar is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $60,000 dollars. At the time of the October 19th arrest, Salazar was out on bond following an arrest in July by College Station police on charges of driving with an invalid license and two warrants from Bryan municipal court, one of which was driving with an invalid license.

College Station police respond to a report from a business that sells smoothies that a man claiming to be a F-B-I agent investigating child pornography who wanted a free drink. The man was still in the area when officers arrived. According to the CSPD arrest report, the man was not a F-B-I agent, he was driving a truck that was reported stolen three weeks ago, and he was in possession of marijuana. 50 year old Dustin Rhodes of Bellville, who was arrested October 18 for unauthorized use of a vehicle and possessing the marijuana, was still in jail October 23 in lieu of bonds totaling $9,000 dollars.

Three victims of a hit and run crash on Highway 21 in Bryan east of the freeway included a D-P-S patrol vehicle. The driver accused of causing the collisions was found and arrested for D-W-I with one prior conviction. 43 year old Mario Ortiz of Bryan was moved out of the Brazos County jail by an unidentified agency after being held for immigration authorities. A car and a semi were also involved in the October 19th incident at Highway 21 and Old Kurten Road.
