For the second time in five months, a College Station man is arrested for making illegal calls to 9-1-1 dispatchers at the College Station police department. Last Friday’s arrest (February 6) followed 56 year old Richard Hunt making six calls where he either said nothing or hung up after being asked if he needed assistance. The calls were traced to someone who CSPD officers had prior contact. Online records show Hunt spent 38 days in jail last September and October after pleading guilty to the same misdemeanor offense in a county court at law. As of February 12, Hunt remains in jail in lieu of a $3,000 dollar bond.
A Bryan police officer who stops a pickup truck that failed to signal a lane change arrests a Houston man for driving with an invalid license with two prior convictions. Online records show 34 year old Robert Mills of Houston was out on bond after he was arrested by Bryan police twice in December 2025 on the same charge. The driver is awaiting trials on the December charges in a Brazos County court at law. Mills is out of jail after posting a $4,000 dollar bond.
An east Texas man was arrested last Thursday night (February 5) on charges from College Station and Bryan police. 31 year old Derrick Jacobs from Livingston is accused of evading College Station police after he is accused of kicking in the door of a woman’s apartment. The CSPD pursuit, which exceeded 70 miles per hour, stopped when the car drove north in the southbound lanes of Texas Avenue. Less than 15 minutes later, Bryan police responded to a hit and run crash. Ten minutes after the crash, the suspect was found in the area of Texas and Villa Maria. Two people in a pickup that was struck by the car said they were not injured. Jacobs is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $14,000 dollars.
