A Bryan police officer saw at five in the morning on Monday (November 17), a man driving a scooter while carrying another scooter near a Bryan apartment complex that has had a high number of scooter thefts. When the officer told the man to stop, he dropped the scooter he was carrying, got off the scooter he was driving, and ran away. Five officers were involved in the search of the man who was eventually found hiding in his apartment closet. That led to the arrest of 37 year old Daniel Ballom for evading, Brazos County warrants in three drug cases, and Bryan municipal court warrants for not having a drivers license and littering. Ballom told officers according to the arrest report that both scooters belonged to him. He remains jailed as of November 18th in lieu of bonds, fines, and court costs totaling $13,304 dollars.
An 18 year old College Station man is arrested on property crime charges in cases investigated by Texas A&M and College Station police. One rifle and two handguns were recovered after they were taken from a vehicle parked at the A&M Southside garage. A CSPD arrest report says 18 year old Javarius Hickman confessed to taking the guns and making charges to credit cards that he took in another vehicle burglary. Hickman remains jailed as of November 18th in lieu of bonds totaling $90,000 dollars.
A Bryan woman in the Brazos County jail for the 26th time since January 2011 is found in possession of methamphetamine. The sheriff’s office arrest report says 34 year old Ashlee Merritt told an investigator that an unidentified inmate gave her the meth before they were released. Merritt, who is also being held on a drug possession charge in College Station, said she had not been using or trying to sell the meth. Merritt remains jailed as of November 18th in lieu of bonds totaling $16,000 dollars.
