Arrests For Drunk Driving And Property Crimes

Bryan police made a drunk driving arrest this week from a nighttime wrong-way crash in May on Rudder Freeway resulting in injuries to both drivers. According to the arrest report, 36 year old Vanessa Galvin’s blood alcohol level was .307, which is more three and a half times the legal limit. Witnesses told police Galvin was in the northbound lanes without her headlights when she hit a southbound SUV. The driver of the SUV said she rolled several times before coming to a stop. She sustained a collapsed lung and severe abdominal pain. Galvin, who is from Bryan, is out of jail after posting a $50,000 dollar bond following her arrest for intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.

A homeless man is accused of drunk driving with three prior convictions, while behind the wheel of a stolen two ton truck. According to the arrest report from the Brazos County sheriff’s office, the truck…pulling a small trailer….was spotted leaving the University RV Park south of College Station. After the truck jackknifed at a nearby flea market, the driver refused to get out when ordered by the deputy and multiple DPS troopers. 46 year old David Zikus turned himself in after he finished drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette.

A College Station policeman was not successful in get an accused shoplifter to identify himself after he was found on the floor at the Kroger store on south Texas talking to himself. 19 year old Jose Hermosillo, who is accused of stealing a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs, was taken first to the city jail, then to the Brazos County jail…where it took 12 hours to get his fingerprints.

Two former co-workers at College Station’s J.C. Penney’s store are out of jail on bond following their arrests for stealing merchandise and gift cards for friends and family. 25 year old Jasmine Shivers of College Station and her cousin, 40 year old Tameka Maxey of Bryan, were caught as the result of an investigation that began last March. According to the arrest reports, Shivers admitted to assisting several people, including Maxey, to steal about $7,000 dollars of items and another $2,200 dollars in gift cards. Investigators also determined Maxey took almost $1,000 dollars of property. The thefts took place between last December and this past May.

A College Station man arrested in February for three vehicle burglaries has been charged with six more break-ins. According to online jail records, 18 year old Devin Ragsdale is being held without bond on the new charges.
