A Sunday morning alarm resulted in Bryan police going to the Compass bank branch on Briarcrest near Villa Maria. A third party security company reported seeing two black men at the ATM inside the bank foyer. According to the arrest report, one of the men was caught running in front of the bank with a crowbar. 27 year old Christopher Tarver is accused of shattering the front glass of the building, ripping open the ATM door and damaging the security pad to the safe.
In the one o’clock hour Monday morning, Bryan police received a citizen’s report of a suspicious pickup in the parking lot of a church. That led to an arrest and the recovery of what was a stolen truck from Caldwell. 34 year old Jesse Lamark Williams was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to the arrest report, officers also took into custody a black ski mask, a pair of gloves, and a bag containing undisclosed items.
No one was injured as Bryan police were involved in a chase Sunday during the noon hour north of the federal prison camp. According to the arrest report, the driver of a car wanted on a misdemeanor drug charge got around the patrol car by driving over a sidewalk at MLK and Military. The officer ended his pursuit after the car ran a stop sign at Military and Henderson. A second patrol car picked up the pursuit, which ended a block later when the driver pulled into his driveway. 22 year old William Walker was taken to jail for evading arrest and possession of K-2.
