Arrest Made During Traffic Stop

Around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Graham Road and Victoria Road, a College Station police officer conducted a traffic stop.

According to the report, the officer saw a backpack in the passenger seat floorboard and asked the driver and received consent to search the vehicle and all contents.

During the search, the officer found several IDs and credit cards belonging to another individual other than the two in the vehicle.

After further investigation, it was found that the driver, 19 year-old Ronald Swede of College Station, had burglarized a vehicle and stolen a purse and he was arrested.

The passenger was not arrested, but the case is still under investigation.

On June 28, 2016 at about 0026 hours a Police Officer with the College Station Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Graham Rd and Victoria Rd. Upon making the stop, the Officer observed a backpack in the passenger seat floorboard. The Officer requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle and all contents. During this search, the Officer located several ID’s and miscellaneous credit cards belonging to an individual other than the two occupants of the vehicle.

During further investigation it was found that the driver of the vehicle had entered and stolen a purse that contained the contents that the individual had on him. The individual eventually admitted to being in the car and taking the items. The male was subsequently arrested for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.
