Arrest On Charges Of Intoxication Manslaughter & Intoxication Assault Follows Fatality Crash That Closes Intersection Of 29th And Briarcrest

From Bryan police:

On January 29, 2020, at 4:45 am Officers responded to 1700 block of Briarcrest at the intersection of E. 29th St. for a major accident.

A Camaro was traveling northbound on 29th St. when it ran a red light.

A GMC pickup truck was traveling westbound on Briarcrest and struck the Camaro on the passenger side.

The force of the collision caused the GMC truck to roll onto its side and the Camaro spun out striking a Buick Verono facing south on E 29th St.

The following are the occupants and their status:

Buick Verano:

A female occupant was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital. She was treated and released with minor injuries.

GMC pickup:

A male and female occupant were transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital. They were both treated and released with serious injuries.

Chevrolet Camaro:

Passenger was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital and was pronounced deceased. The passenger has been identified as James Ross Ragsdale age 27 of Bryan.

The driver, Colton Bradley age 21 of Midland, was treated by medics on scene and arrested for one count of Intoxication Manslaughter and two counts of Intoxication Assault.

The intersection of 29th and Briarcrest was closed Saturday morning following a fatality crash.

Bryan police report one person died and three others were taken to the hospital.

BPD will release additional information Saturday afternoon about the crash, which was reported at 4:45 a.m.
