Another Two-Ton Truck Is Stolen From A Texas A&M Parking Lot

For the fourth time, Texas A&M police (UPD) has received a report of a two-ton truck being stolen from the same parking area.

Lot 40 is located between George Bush and Lewis and between Bizzell and Coke.

On Friday, UPD was told a 2007 Ford F-250 diesel pickup was taken from lot 40-C between 1:30 and 10:00 a.m.

Remains of the truck were found at noon by Houston police.

This follows the thefts of Dodge Ram 2500 trucks on April 14 and April 22 in lots 40-B and 40-D.

One of the three Dodge trucks was recovered in Houston.

Anyone with any information is asked to call UPD at 979-845-2345.

UPD chief Mike Ragan asks members of the campus community to report any suspicious activity.

The chief also has the following anti-theft suggestions:

• A mechanism that locks onto the steering wheel can be a very visible sign that you’ve taken steps to protect your vehicle

• Ignition cut-off systems that prevent a car from being started

• Some new cars come with passive alarms that activate automatically when the key is removed from the ignition

• A system that emits a signal that can be tracked by the police
