Another fatal crash took place on Highway 6 between Bryan and Hearne.
DPS Trooper Jimmy Morgan says Hearne Police received a report Monday shortly before 2:30 p.m. of a reckless driver headed towards Hearne.
The driver of a Mustang was killed after his car crossed the center line between FM 2549 and the Spring Creek bridge and struck the rear tandem axle of a semi-trailer.
The identity of the deceased has not been released because family has not been notified.
Morgan says the trucker was taken by Robertson County EMS to St. Joseph to be checked out for possible injuries. The semi and empty trailer remained upright following the impact.
The wreck totally shut down the highway for two hours, followed by another two hours of traffic in both directions sharing one open lane. The Bryan TxDOT office reports one lane in each direction was supposed to be opened by 6 and all lanes reopened by 9 p.m.
