A&M Women Drop to 11-2

SEATTLE- Courtney Williams scored 19 points, but it was not enough as No. 5 Texas A&M fell 70-49 to Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena Monday night.

Washington (11-1) led by as many as 18 in the first half as they took a 40-22 advantage into the break. The Aggies (11-2) trailed by as many as 22 in the second half, but cut the deficit to single digits with 9:42 remaining. With the Aggies threatening, Washington rattled off a 13-1 run to put the game away.

Williams had her second double double of the season and fourth of her career with 19 points and 10 rebounds. She has reached double figures for the sixth time this season and led the Aggies in scoring.

Tori Scott and Courtney Walker both added 10 points for the Aggies. It was the 11th time in 13 games for Walker to reach double figures and the third time in the last four games for Scott to reach double figures.

Rachel Mitchell started and posted a career-high with eight rebounds.

The Aggies return home on Wednesday, December 31 at 4 p.m. to host North Texas in Reed Arena. The first 500 fans receive 40 Years of Women’s Basketball flute glasses to help ring in the New Year.
