A&M to Auction Unique Athletic Facility Items

COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Texas A&M Athletics will conduct an online auction of several unique and historic items from the recently closed G. Rollie White Coliseum beginning August 1 via the school’s official athletic website AggieAthletics.com.

Highlighting the initial auction will be metal, 10 inch letters which served as the marquee at the historic basketball and volleyball facility and spelled “G. Rollie White Coliseum” for decades.

Additional items from G. Rollie White Coliseum include the U.S. and State of Texas flags which hung in the rafters, along with a 4-foot tall maroon Daktronics scoreboard.

Later in August, the Athletic Department will auction four Texas A&M branded sections of the wood playing court, and will sell pieces of the G. Rollie White Coliseum brick exterior. The court and bricks availability are subject to a successful salvage by the demolition contractor.

Meanwhile, several items from areas around Kyle Field will be auctioned in the near future as the school embarks on the redevelopment of the stadium and completes the lobby expansion at the Bright Complex.

The Kyle Field and Bright Complex related items include 6-inch tall metal letters from the Bright Football Lobby which spelled “Texas A&M Football” and 8-inch tall metal letters which spelled “Home of the 12th Man,” along with a metal “Gifts from Kyle Field” sign and a 60-foot long maroon canvas which says “Kyle Field-Home of the 12th Man.”

Following the conclusion of the home football game schedule in November, Texas A&M will sell a variety of items from Kyle Field including the five-year old grass playing surface, signage, façade letters, and concrete pieces of the east side first deck.
