A&M Regents Meeting Includes Major Projects on Flagship Campus

Over $50 million dollars of new construction projects at Texas A&M University are expected to get the green light when the Board of Regents meets later this week.

Regents will consider four proposals at the flagship campus.

The most expensive is a $21 million dollar physical education facility that will lead to the demolition of G. Rollie White Coliseum and the Read Building located under Kyle Field. The new p-e complex would be located on Penberthy north of the tennis center or due west of Reed Arena. Construction is projected to be completed by the summer of 2013.

Also for regents action is a $16 million dollar expansion of facilities around Kyle Field paid for by the 12th Man Foundation. Slated for completion in August of 2013 will be a sports nutrition center, an expansion of the Bright building lobby, and building a new entryway off George Bush Drive that features a new plaza where the John David Crow statue will be moved.
