Head Coach Brian Kortan
On battling through a long two-round day…
“I hate to keep saying this, but in the morning we were about three shots from having a really good round. It was tough. The wind was tough and we didn’t get off to the best start. So we kind of played from behind this morning but really hung in there. The last 27 holes were really competitive golf. I’m really proud of the guys for hanging in on there on a long day and fighting. P (Phichaksn Maichon) is sick, has a fever, but he played his tail off in the second round and competed his tail off.”
On Jaime Montojo’s play…
“Jaime made two 7s this morning from really being in decent position. For him to be where he is in the tournament after making two pretty big errors means he really played well the rest of the day. This afternoon he had as much control of his golf ball as we’ve seen in a while. I’m really proud of him for sticking to it and making some pretty good putts.”
