A&M Astronomers Checking the Night Skies This Weekend

If we can’t get rain, at least we have the chance of seeing a galactic treat.

Astronomers at Texas A&M University say the nighttime skies this weekend will be the best time to catch the brightest supernova in 40 years.

The manager of A&M’s observatory, Don Carona, says with a good pair of binoculars or a telescope, look just after sunset through the night just north of the last two stars in the Big Dipper’s handle.
