Ags head to OKC for Big 12 Tourney

The Aggie baseball team dropped to 13th in the Collegiate Baseball and the Baseball America polls after falling two of three to Texas last weekend. The Longhorns stand as tall as ranked second on the Baseball America list now. Most of the top team bumped up after previous No. 1 ranked Virginia was swept by North Carolina over the weekend. South Carolina is the new No. 1 team on all lists.

In the Big 12, Oklahoma is 12th in one poll and that’s all the conference teams ranked going into the Big 12 Tournament that starts tomorrow at the facility now called The Redhawks Field at Bricktown.

The tournament will be two separate four-team double elimination tournaments that will produce two winners, with those two winners playing one game Sunday at 1 for the tournament title.

Division One includes top seed and co-champ Texas, along with Missouri, Oklahoma State and Baylor. Tomorrow the Cowboys and Bears open the tournament at 9 am, followed by Texas and OSU at 12:30.

Division Two has second seed and co-champ A&M meeting Texas Tech at 4, followed by OU vs Kansas State at 7:30.

We will broadcast the game on 1620 WTAW.

The weather forecast is bad for today in Oklahoma City with a good chance of severe storms but looks OK for the rest of the week.
