Aggies at NFL Combine

Six Texas A&M football players, Luke Joeckel, Christine Michael, Damontre Moore, Sean Porter, Jonathan Stewart and Ryan Swope, will make their way to Indianapolis for the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine which will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“I know everyone with the Aggie football team and the 12th Man wants to wish our guys the best of luck,” Aggie head football coach Kevin Sumlin said. “We would not have had the success we had as a team without the leadership and the ability of our senior class. I know those guys have prepared well and will give it their best. We are proud of them.”

Coverage of the event will begin on Thursday, Feb. 21. The first on-field position groups will begin on Saturday, Feb. 23 with offensive lineman, tight ends and specialists. Representing Texas A&M will be Outland Trophy winner and All-American offensive tackle Luke Joeckel. On Sunday, quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will workout. Running back Christine Michael rushed for 2,791 yards in his Aggie career despite two leg injuries shortening his sophomore and junior seasons. The all-time leader in pass receptions for Texas A&M is wide receiver Ryan Swope and he will workout on Sunday as well. Three Aggie defenders will highlight Monday as the defensive line and linebackers will compete. All-American and Hendricks Award finalist defensive end Damontre Moore along with four-year Aggie letterman linebackers Sean Porter and Jonathan Stewart complete the threesome. Porter served as a team captain and was a force on the outside while Stewart was the quarterback of the defense at his middle linebacker position. The defensive backs will wrap up the event on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Live coverage of the on-field workouts will begin each day at 8 a.m. central on the NFL Network.

Texas A&M will conduct a Senior Pro Day on the Texas A&M campus on Friday, Mar. 8.
