News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
Texas A&M women’s golf head coach Gerrod Chadwell was named to the WGCA National Coach of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Monday.
Chadwell has led the Aggies to a No. 4 ranking nationally and the No. 1 seed in the Waco Regional. The Aggies under Chadwell’s leadership have won a program record tying five tournaments this year and advanced to the semifinals of the SEC Championship.
This marks the fourth time in five years that Chadwell has been tabbed to the WGCA National Coach of the Year Watch List. Chadwell has led the program to new heights, having guided the team to three NCAA match play appearances, the 2023 SEC Championship and double-digit tournament victories. Chadwell has also coached five golfers to All-America honors and the program’s first ever Individual National Champion.
The Maroon & White are set to compete at the Waco regional May 11-13 at Ridgewood Country Club. Chadwell and the Aggies are looking to move on to the NCAA Championship May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
