Aggie Women’s Basketball Hosts Mississippi State in Final Home Game

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

The Texas A&M women’s basketball team is set to host Mississippi State on Thursday at 7 p.m. inside Reed Arena for its final home game of the season.

The Aggies (12-11, 5-9 SEC) continue to ride the hot hands of Ny’Ceara Pryor and Fatmata Janneh who each recorded their third consecutive double-doubles against Arkansas. Over the three-game stretch, Pryor is averaging 17.0 points and 11.0 assists while Janneh is posting 14.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.

The Maroon & White had five players score in double figures versus the Razorbacks, Pryor (16), Janneh (11), Jordan Webster (11), Lauren Ware (11) and Salese Blow (10); marking the second time this season the Aggies had five players reach the 10+ point mark in the same game. The Aggie offense over their three game win streak has averaged 80.3 points per game.

Mississippi State (18-10, 5-9 SEC) is coming off a 92-42 loss on the road to Texas. The Bulldogs are 3-6 on the road this season and are led by Madison Francis who is averaging 13.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Texas A&M has won four of its last five games, including two ranked victories. Both the Bulldogs and Aggies are tied in the SEC standings and Mississippi State is currently one of the “Last Four In” teams on Charlie Creme’s Bracketology. The matchup is a Quad 2 opportunity for the Maroon & White as they look to continue their late push into the postseason.
