News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
The Texas A&M soccer team dropped its SEC opener Friday evening at Ellis Field, 3-0, to the Georgia Bulldogs.
The Aggies (3-2-3, 0-1-0 SEC) were undone by Georgia’s efficient attack, as the Bulldogs converted three of their seven shots-on-goal and held a 20-14 advantage in total shots.
Georgia (5-2-2, 1-0-0 SEC) claimed the lead in the seventh minute. Texas A&M had two golden opportunities to knot the match before the intermission, but Georga’s Hannah Follard made a diving stop on a Trinity Buchanan shot from the right corner of the penalthy box and a Bailey Cate shot from 20 yards sailed inches high of frame.
The Bulldogs tacked on two more goals in the second half. A Kaylee Noble hit the crossboar midway through the second half as the Aggies tried to pull a goal back from the deficit.
