Aggie Men’s Tennis Drop First Match of the Season to Baylor

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

The No. 8 Texas A&M men’s tennis team dropped its first match of the season after a 4-1 loss to No. 19 Baylor at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center Monday night.

The Aggies (6-1) started off strong, picking up their first doubles point since Tennessee. Baylor struck first, grabbing court 2. The duo of Theo Papamalamis and Togan Tokac picked up their first doubles win this season over Devin Badenhorst and Luc Koenig on court 1, 6-1. Tiago Pires and Kriish Tyagi clinched the doubles point for the Aggies, taking down Blake Anderson and Connor Van Schalkwyk, 6-3.

Baylor (5-2) responded in singles, taking four straight courts to take the win. Papamalamis was up in his third set while Tyagi was tied in his when the match finished.

The Maroon & White return to Waco for the ITA National Indoor Championships Feb. 13-17.
