Aggie Men’s Golf Placed Second at John A. Burns Intercollegiate

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

The Texas A&M men’s golf team finished in a tie for second place at the 49th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate following Saturday’s third round action.

The Maroon & White posted a 3-over 283 for the last loop to share runner-up recognition with UNLV at 5-under 835. Loyola Marymount won the tournament with a 10-under 830 tally. New Mexico was the only other squad in the 19-team field to clear par, finishing 1-under 839.

Wheaton Ennis and Jaime Montojo finished tied for 18th place to lead the Aggies. They registered three-round scores of 1-over 211. Alex Long and Aaron Pounds were one stroke back in 21st place at 2-over 212. Loyola Marymount’s Trever Algya won the tournament at 8-under 202.

Jack Usner rounded out Texas A&M’s starting five with a 38th-place showing at 5-over 215. Two Aggies playing as individuals, Kris Kuvaas and Jake Maggert, tied for 30th at 4-over 214.
