Aggie Men’s Golf Hosts NCAA Regional at Traditions Club

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

The Texas A&M Aggies are set to battle for a spot in the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship as they host the Bryan Regional Monday through Wednesday at Traditions Club.

The field competes on the par-72, 7,227-yard course, one of the premier collegiate golf venues in the country. The top five teams from each of the NCAA’s six regionals advance to the NCAA Championship set for May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

Texas A&M is making its 51st NCAA postseason appearance, including 22 trips in the last 23 completed seasons. The NCAA has hosted regionals since 1989, and the Maroon & White have earned 33 trips in that span, including each of the last 10 years.

The Aggies field a talented lineup led by junior Aaron Pounds and sophomore Wheaton Ennis, both ranked inside the top 60 of the Scoreboard National Rankings powered by Clippd. Jaime Montojo, Shiv Parmar and Kris Kuvaas round out the Aggie fivesome, while Alex Long serves as Texas A&M’s substitute.

Traditions Club hosts an NCAA Men’s Golf Regional for the third time after previously serving as a postseason site in 2010 and 2018. The nationally recognized course has also hosted three NCAA Women’s Regionals.

The 14-team field features six teams ranked inside the top 45 nationally, including No. 4 Texas, No. 9 North Carolina, No. 16 Tennessee, No. 21 New Mexico, No. 27 Texas A&M and No. 34 TCU. Five individuals are also participating in the tournament with two golfers from SMU and one each from Baylor, Incarnate Word and UT Arlington.
