Aggie Football Tops Arkansas for 800th Win in Program History

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

Texas A&M secured its first conference win of the season and its 800th win in program history, downing Arkansas, 34-7, in front of a season-best crowd of 108,657 Saturday evening from Kyle Field.

The Aggies compiled 401 yards of total offense, while limiting the Razorbacks to 214. Freshman running backs Carsyn Baker and KJ Edwards combined for 92 yards on the ground and three scores. Senior quarterback Marcel Reed completed 13 passes on 19 attempts for 170 yards, while rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown.

Graduate kicker David Olano contributed a pair of 50-plus-yard field goals, including a career-long 57-yard conversion at the end of the first half.

Defensively, the Maroon & White held Arkansas to 103 rushing yards and 111 passing yards, while limiting the visitors to 3-of-10 on third down. Senior safety Dalton Brooks recorded the Aggies’ lone turnover of the game with an interception on the second snap of the game. Senior linebacker Daymion Sanford and senior safety Tawfiq Byard led the unit with six tackles.
