Aggie Expressway Takes Next Step Towards Construction

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is one step closer to starting construction on the SH 249 project, also know as the Aggie Expressway, from FM1774 to SH 105 in Grimes County.

Chad Boehne, Transportation Director for the Bryan district, said the final environmental assessment resulted in a finding of no significant impact, or a FONSI.

“We are then able to move onto the next steps, which in this case will be right away acquisition will be necessary, we will have to get design plans ready and all those other steps that allow you to move on to construction,” said Boehne.

This is final step in the preliminary engineering process.
