COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M earned its first Top 8 National Seed since 1999 as the NCAA Division I Championship selection committee announced the Aggies as the overall No. 4 seed Monday.

Texas A&M earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship with Sunday’s 12-5 victory over the Florida Gators in the SEC Tournament championship game. It extends the Aggies’ school-record streak of appearances in the NCAA Championship to 10 consecutive seasons and the 32nd overall selection to the tournament field. This marks the 11th time Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park will host an NCAA Regional.

The Aggies were tabbed as the No. 1 seed in the College Station Regional where they will face No. 4 seed Binghamton in the first day’s action at 8 pm on Friday, June 3. On Saturday, Texas A&M will face either No. 2 seed Minnesota or No. 3 seed Wake Forest.

Each regional field features four teams, playing a double-elimination format. All 16 regionals are scheduled to be conducted from Friday, June 3, to Monday, June 6.

Binghamton is 30-23 on the season, including 19-5 in the America East Conference. The Bearcats rolled through the America East Conference Tournament, winning all three games by a combined 21-12 tally.

Minnesota is 34-20 overall and the Golden Gophers won the Big Ten regular-season crown with a 16-7 conference record.

Wake Forest is 34-25 on the season. The Demon Deacons finished tied for 10 place in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 13-17 league ledger.

The winner of the College Station Regional will face the winner of the Fort Worth Regional hosted by TCU in a Super Regional. TCU was handed a hosting opportunity and a regional with Arizona State, Gonzaga and Oral Roberts.
