Aggie Baseball Downs Arizona State in Amegy Bank College Baseball Series Finale

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

No. 23 Texas A&M completed its weekend in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series with a 9-3 victory over Arizona State Sunday night from Globe Life Field.

Caden Sorrell opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run opposite field home run. After the Sun Devils (8-4) knotted things up at two in the top of the second inning, the Aggies (10-1) scored three runs in the bottom half of the frame to take the lead for good.

A wild pitch brought home another run for the Maroon & White in the third inning. The Aggies tallied another three spot in the sixth inning behind an RBI groundout from Boston Kellner and a two-RBI single by Nico Partida.

Aiden Sims worked 4.2 innings as the starter, allowing two earned runs on three hits. The righty walked three batters and struck out four. Ethan Darden registered 2.1 innings of relief and suffered just one earned run. Clayton Freshcorn (2-0) earned the win, working the final two frames in scoreless fashion.
