Aggie Baseball Continues SEC Play On the Road at LSU

No. 10 Texas A&M baseball continues conference play with a three-game series at Alex Box Stadium against LSU, beginning Friday night at 6 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. matchup Saturday. The series finale is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday.

Game one will air nationally on ESPN while game two will broadcast on SEC Network. Sunday’s series finale will broadcast on ESPN. Each game may be heard locally on 1150 AM/93.7 FM The Zone. Fans may follow along through live stats or on X, @AggieBaseball.

Friday’s opener marks the 67th matchup between the two programs, with the Aggies (28-7) leading the all-time series, 34-31-1, over the Tigers (23-15). In games at Alex Box Stadium, the series tied 14-14. The two clubs met four times last season, splitting the series at two games each.

The Maroon & White will send Shane Sdao to the mound Friday night and Aiden Sims on Saturday night. Sunday’s starter is to be announced. Sdao leads the pitching staff with 58 punchouts and Sims boasts a 3-0 record in conference play.

The Aggies are coming off a 10-2 midweek triumph over Houston, posting double-digit runs for the 17th time this season. The Maroon & White were led offensively by freshmen Jorian Wilson and Nico Partida, who each blasted round-trippers in the matchup. The duo combined for five hits and sent seven of the Aggies’ 10 runs across the plate.

Texas A&M ranks among the top 10 nationally in on-base percentage (.451), slugging percentage (.590), home runs (73) and walks (231). On the mound, Ol’ Sarge’s charges rank third in walks allowed per nine innings (2.88) and ninth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.20).

In SEC play, the Aggies lead the conference in batting average (.288), slugging percentage (.559), scoring (9.9 runs per game), doubles (31), triples (4), and walks (108). Caden Sorrell and Gavin Grahovac have powered the lineup, entering the series as the only two players in the league with 20 or more RBI in SEC play. Sorrell’s 57 RBI and 17 home runs this season rank first among all SEC sluggers. Grahovac has reached base safely in all 14 conference games and is riding a 10-game hitting streak.
