No. 9 Texas A&M baseball heads to Oxford for its final SEC road trip with a three-game series against No. 20 Ole Miss from Swayze Field. The series begins Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed by Saturday’s matchup at 4 p.m. The series finale is slated for 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Games one and two will stream on SEC Network+, with the series finale airing nationally on SEC Network. Each game may be heard locally on 1150 AM/93.7 FM The Zone.
Friday’s matchup marks the 42nd meeting between the Aggies (36-10, 15-8) and the Rebels (32-17, 12-12). Texas A&M trails slightly in the all-time series, 21-20.
Ethan Darden makes his first start in the Maroon & White for Friday’s opener and Aiden Sims will get the nod on Saturday. Sims leads the pitching staff with 68 strikeouts and holds a 5-1 record in conference games. His eight wins on the season are tied for first among all SEC starters.
In conference play, the Aggies lead the league in runs (188), on-base percentage (.393), slugging percentage (.523) and walks (138). Gavin Grahovac tops the SEC in slugging percentage (.792), runs scored (34), RBI (36), home runs (11) and is tied for first in hits with 35. On the mound, Gavin Lyons leads the conference with six SEC wins.
The Aggies rank inside the top ten national ranks in on-base percentage (.429), slugging percentage (.574), home runs (99) and runs scored (422). The Maroon & White pitching staff ranks second nationally in walks allowed per nine innings (2.81) and seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.23).
