No. 10 Texas A&M belted three home runs, a double and a triple against Houston to top the Cougars, 10-2, Tuesday evening from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies (28-7) were led offensively by Jorian Wilson, who recorded a career-high four RBI and smashed his seventh home run of the season.
Cole Hubert got the start for the Aggies but was relieved in the first inning by Juan Vargas who tossed 2.0 scoreless frames. Grant Cunningham (3-1) followed, earning the win after dealing 3.0 scoreless innings of relief. Luke Billings, Hunter Bond, Hunter Vincent and Ethan Darden all made appearances on the mound to seal the win. The bullpen held the Cougars to six hits and no runs after the first frame, punching out eight batters.
The Cougars (16-19) got on the board in the first inning behind three hits that plated two runs.
Wilson crushed a ball over the right-center field wall, traveling 402 feet and leaving the bat at 107 miles per hour to tie the game.
In the third inning, Nico Partida got in on the long ball action, drilling a 420-foot two-run home run to center field to give the Aggies their first lead of the game.
The Maroon & White broke the game open in the fifth inning, starting with a two-run double ripped down the left field line from Wilson. Gavin Grahovac rounded the bases for the 10th time this season after he mashed a no-doubt home run over the center field wall, scoring three.
