Funeral arrangements for Burleson County Deputy Adam Sowders are as follows:
Visitation is Thursday, December 26, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in College Station.
The funeral servie is Friday, December 27 at 1 p.m., also at Central Baptist Church.
Interment follows the funeral service at Oak Lawn Cemetery off Highway 36 in Somerville.
Memorials may be made to the Adam Sowders Law Enforcement Continuing Education scholarship memorial fund has been established at the Citizens State Bank in Somerville.

An arrest has been made in the shooting that fatally wounded Sgt Adam Sowders yesterday morning in Burleson County.
Henry Goedrich Magee, 28, from Somerville has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder of a Peace Officer in this case.
The warrant was signed by Burleson County District Judge Reva Towslee Corbett. Magee was booked into the Burleson County Jail Thursday afternoon and transferred to Brenham where he will be held on a one million dollar bond.
The Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Texas Rangers are continuing their investigation of this incident.
Thursday afternoon update:
A Burleson County sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed Thursday morning in the line of duty.
A recently promoted sergeant and investigator, 31 year old Adam Sowders, was among at least eight officers involved in executing a search warrant.
Sowders died the day after his seventh anniversary with the department.
Sheriff Dale Stroud says Sowders was the only one hit by the gunfire.
Other than saying one person is in custody, the sheriff did not give further details of what happened at a double-wide mobile home between Somerville and Caldwell.
Sowders, who lived in Somerville, served as a volunteer firefighter for 13 years.
Sowders joined the sheriff’s office in 2006 after serving as Burleson County’s Emergency Management Coordinator. He also served as an officer with the Somerville Police Department.
Stroud says Sowders is survived by two brothers and his mother.
Texas Rangers and DPS troopers are assisting in the death investigation. The sheriff says deputies from Brazos, Milam, Washington, and Waller counties are helping with daily operations.

A Burleson County Sheriff’s officer was killed Thursday morning.
According to a news release, Sgt. Investigator Adam Sowders was a member of a team that took gunfire while serving a search warrant at a home in the southern part of the county.
The suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Texas Rangers.
Information from the sheriff’s office indicated only Sowders was struck by gunfire.
