The recent revelation from A&M men’s basketball head coach Billy Kennedy that he has Parkinson’s disease serves as a reminder that there are active support groups.
Ben White directs the Brazos Valley Parkinson’s Association based at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
White says the goals of the seven-county association are three fold. One is to promote exercise, another is educate, and the third is promoting support groups.
One support group meets the first Monday of each month during the noon hour, has a guest speaker. White says the second support group, which meets the second Thursday evening of each month, focuses on fellowship.
