Bryan police responded Wednesday during the noon hour to a disturbance between two men.
One had an eight inch knife and the other had a pistol.
The man with the knife, 33 year old Michael Golatt of Bryan, was arrested for threatening a woman with the knife.
According to the arrest report, the man with the gun came to protect the woman.
Golatt told officers the woman hit him on his bicycle with her truck. Police found no evidence of any contact from either the truck or the bicycle.
Golatt remains in jail in lieu of a $10,000 dollar bond.
According to online court records, Golatt was pleaded guilty last January to misdemeanor family assault and was sentenced to six months. And in October of last year he pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing and resisting arrest and was sentenced to 75 days.
