Wawrinka Wins Men’s Final at French Open

PARIS (AP) _ Novak Djokovic has fallen short in his quest to complete a career Grand Slam.

The top-seeded Djokovic dropped the French Open final for the third time, falling to No. 8 Stan Wawrinka, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4. The outcome puts an end to Djokovic’s 28-match winning streak and keeps him stuck on eight Grand Slam titles.

Wawrinka earned his first French Open crown after exiting in the first round of last year’s tournament. He had lost 17 of his previous matches against Djokovic before earning his second major championship, and first since last year’s
Australian Open.
