For the first time the H1N1 flu has been confirmed as the cause of death for a Texas resident.
Few details are known at this time, but it was a female living in Cameron County along the U.S. border with Mexico.
The Brazos County Health Department continues to monitor the situation while awaiting test results from more than 120 samples that were sent off last Wednesday and Thursday.

Based on the continued surveillance and constant communication with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Brazos County Health Department supports the decision to re-open Pebble Creek Elementary.
