Man Facing Three Charges After Allegedly Pointing Gun at Another Driver on Highway 6
A man is facing several charges, including Deadly Conduct, after pointing a gun at another driver during a road rage incident in broad daylight. College Station Police say 21-year-old Peyton Curtis Groeschel, of Katy, aimed the firearm in the direction of the other motorist while they traveled northbound on Highway 6 near Nantucket. The incident took place around 1:00pm Saturday afternoon. The complainant says Groeschel was driving aggressively and admitted making a hand gesture towards him. That’s when Groeschel allegedly opened the truck’s rear window open and pointed a “black object” at him. Police conducted a felony traffic stop near Harvey Mitchell Parkway and found a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 9mm short-barreled rifle in the backseat. A passenger in Groeschel’s vehicle says the driver cut them off and repeatedly slammed on its brakes, but denies that the firearm was displayed. Upon further search of the vehicle, officers uncovered a marijuana grinder and a synthetic urine kit. Groeschel was charged with Deadly Conduct, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Drug Test Falsification device. He is free on $10,000 bond.
