Two more convenience stores are coming to College Station.
At this week’s city council meeting, zoning changes were approved to build the first Stripes store at Wellborn Road and William D. Fitch. This is in addition to the Bryan location Stripes acquired from the former Chick’s chain.
Stripes director of engineering and construction Michael Choate told the council they plan on six to ten stores in the twin cities.
Choate also noted the hurdles to reach a compromise to build at Fitch and Wellborn on a wedge shaped piece of property.

The council also approved rezoning for a c-store, whose owner was not identified, at the southwest corner of Rock Prairie Road West and Holleman Drive South.
