MIAMI (AP) _ Forecasters say Hermine has weakened to a tropical depression.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Tuesday night that Hermine had weakened, though it was still producing heavy rain in central Texas. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.
Hermine was moving north-northwest at about 20 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds had decreased to near 35 miles per hour.
A peeled-back motel roof in the coastal farming town of Raymondville, Texas, and scattered power outages were about the worst leftover from the storm. It came and went quickly after creeping up on Texas and Mexico in the warm Gulf waters over the long holiday weekend.
