Tips for Safe Grillling

Labor Day weekend, the last holiday weekend of the summer, provides more opportunities to cook outdoors.

The combination of the holiday weekend and a recent house fire in Bryan serves as a reminder to be prepared while cooking outside on a grill.

Bryan Fire Marshall William Bouse says three keys are making sure someone stays with the grill, keep grills away from structures and having a way to snuff out flames nearby.

Bryan’s fire code requires grills to be at least ten feet away from structures.
