Texas A&M police are looking for two men who assaulted a student Thursday night just before midnight between the Doherty and Halbouty buildings, northwest of the intersection of Ross and Spence streets.
Lt. Allan Baron says the student who was pushed to the ground yelled at the suspects, and he gave chase along with a witness.
The victim pursued one of the suspects to the east side of the Doherty Building. The victim alerted a male witness outside the Doherty Building of what had happened and he began to pursue the suspect through Parking Area 14 and into Parking Area 54, before losing sight of the suspect.
The witness reported seeing a small red car leaving Parking Area 54 and driving around the area prior to contacting the police.
The witness was able to provide University Police with a license plate number of the vehicle.
The victim identified both suspects as black males, but was only able to provide a detailed description on one of the suspects. He is between 20 and 28 years old, five feet seven, medium build, clean shaven, and wearing a white t-shirt and maroon Texas A&M shorts.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the University Police immediately at 979-845-2345.
