Prosperity Bank Warns Customers of Phishing Scam

ProsperityBankLogoA phishing scam is hitting the cell phones of customers with Prosperity Bank.

A message on the bank’s website tells those with ATM and debit cards to not give out their account and PIN numbers.

Customers who shared their personal information are asked to contact their local Prosperity Bank immediately to take preventative measures to secure their accounts.

The President of the Prosperity Bank locations in Bryan/College Station, Tim Jones, says there’s been no security breach on their system.

The scam has been monitored at the local Better Business Bureau office, where Bill McGuire says there have been some victims.

McGuire also says the calls have been received by people who are not Prosperity customers, and the calls have been received only in Bryan/College Station, Caldwell, and Snook.

That leads him to think the call list might be associated with the recent online identity theft at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
