Officials confirmed that at approximately 11:25 a.m. today Angel Garcia, an employee of Lindamood Demolition, fell from the fourth level of the north end of Kyle Field on the campus of Texas A&M University. He was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas, where he passed away.
“The thoughts and prayers of all of us at the A&M System and within the Bryan and College Station community are with the Garcia family,” said A&M System Chancellor John Sharp.
“On behalf of Texas A&M University and the extended Aggie family I offer our deepest sympathy to the family of the construction worker who tragically passed away,” said Texas A&M University President R. Bowen Loftin.
The Texas A&M System, Manhattan-Vaughan Construction, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Texas A&M University Police Department will continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details are available at this time.

3 p.m. update:
A construction worker was injuredTuesday morning at Kyle Field.
A&M System Vice Chancellor Steve Moore says around 11 a.m. the worker fell from the fourth floor of the northeast corner of the stadium. That’s part of the first phase of the $450 million dollar redevelopment project.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. Their condition, their name, and what they were doing at the time of the fall are among the questions not answered by university or system officials.
A&M also shut down its collection of web cams showing real time and archived progress of the construction.
Moore told reporters gathered at Olsen Field Tuesday afternoon that there are investigators at Kyle Field from the university, the construction company, and OSHA.

The fall follows the arrests of one student from A&M and four from the University of Texas were arrested for breaking into the construction zone at Kyle Field.
UPD Lt. Allan Baron says just after 1 a.m., an A&M security officer spotted the group inside the construction area, which is surrounded by fencing and signs stating do not enter and no trespassing.
After the security officer told the group to stop, they jumped over the fence and ran away.
A UPD patrolman saw a vehicle driving towards him from a parking lot east of the stadium.
The vehicle was stopped and according to the patrolman all five admitted to being in the construction zone.
All were arrested for criminal trespassing and all have been released from jail after posting bond.
The A&M student is 21 year old Christina Foley of College Station. The UT students are 18 year old Steven Pakes of Dallas, 18 year old Jonathan Go of Andover, Kansas, 20 year old Lou Sunderman of McKinney, and 22 year old James Bussman of Little Elm.
Baron says security is on site 24 hours and UPD regularly patrols the area.
