Council Filing Ends

There was a last minute change in the list of candidates filing for the open College Station City Council seat left by the June death of Larry Stewart.
One of the three who previously filed has withdrawn.  Timothy Delasandro submitted his paperwork late Monday afternoon.  Delasandro, who ran earlier this year for Congress, stated he was “not in a position to vigorously and effectively campaign” for city council.
That leaves John Nichols and Jana McMillan seeking the position in the November election.  The winner will serve the remainder of Stewart’s term, which ends next May.
