First Grader Receives Bryan FD Citizen Award

A first-grade student at Bryan’s Navarro Elementary School is a recipient of the Bryan Fire Department’s Citizen Award.

Three weeks ago when his mother had a medical emergency on the road, Kadein Fuentes honked the car horn until getting the attention of a police officer.

Fire Chief Randy McGregor says they wanted to recognize Fuentes with a special presentation ceremony in front of his classmates.

McGregor says it’s important for parents with medical conditions to discuss it with their children and have an action plan in case of a similar crisis.

WTAW’s Kat McMullen visits with Randy McGregor.
