Plea & Sentencing in CS Home Invasion

In November 2008 there was a home invasion in College Station involving drugs that led to gunfire and the arrests of four Bryan men.

The first of those accused has pleaded guilty to ten felony crimes. Sentenced in Brazos County District Court was 22 year old Cardell Jackson.

District Judge Steve Smith accepted sentencing recommendations when ordering Jackson to 12 years. He will serve at least six years before becoming eligible for parole.

Jackson, who was shot by one of the five occupants of the home, was among those after two backpacks. One contained between one and two thousand dollars in cash and the other held marijuana.

Two more defendants, Matthew Maxwell and Stanley Banner, Jr., are scheduled for jury trials starting July 12th. The fourth man arrested, Jeremy Evans, had charges dropped in that case but awaits trial in another matter.
