Woman Seriously Hurt After Jumping from Police Car

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) _ Amarillo police say a handcuffed woman jumped out of a police car going around 60 mph on Interstate 40, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Police Cpl. Jerry Neufeld says that after making a traffic stop Sunday, police arrested Stacy Mock of Amarillo on outstanding warrants for parole violations.

He says Mock, 30, was handcuffed with her hands behind her back and placed in the back of a police car. He says that as the car was going down the interstate she somehow got her handcuffed hands in front of her, rolled down the window and jumped out.

He says she remained in the hospital on Monday with injuries to her body and head.
