Tuesday night the Bryan City Council takes the official vote whether to purchase Briarcrest Country Club.
Mayor Jason Bienski says he will do what he pledged since September and vote against purchasing Briarcrest, which reflects the results of November’s special election.
Nearly two-thirds of Bryan voters said no to buying Briarcrest and more than 70 percent said no to removing the parkland designation from the municipal course.
The contract made before the election gave the city to get out of the $2 million dollar deal, though Briarcrest keeps $10,000 in earnest money.
