Bryan School Bus Rear Ended, Two Students With Minor Injuries

A Bryan ISD school bus was rear-ended Tuesday afternoon west of Bryan on Leonard Road between Highway 47 and FM 2818.

District spokeswoman Sandy Farris says the bus was stopped with is flashers on and stop arm extended.

Farris says  20 to 24 students were headed home from Branch Elementary when the bus was rear-ended.

Two students sustained neck pain.  Farris says parents came to the scene of the crash to transport their child.  The second child, at their parents request, was transported by EMS to receive medical attention.  Farris says the second child was evaluated and released.

The Department of Public Safety, which is investigating, reported neither driver was injured.

Farris says the bus driver resumed taking students home from school after they spoke with troopers.  The school bus sustained minor damage.
