ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ Toyota is announcing a series of offers aimed at helping consumers deal with its recent recall.
They include free at-home pickup of vehicles covered by the national safety recall. Toyota also says it will cover customers’ out-of-pocket transportation costs. In addition, the Japanese automaker is offering free rental cars during repairs.
The costs to the company weren’t disclosed.
The deal was initially announced as part of an agreement between Toyota and New York state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. But at a congressional hearing today in Washington, a senior Toyota executive says the same benefits are being extended nationwide.
