U.S. Senate Candidates Gather for Forum Monday Night at A&M

Monday night is a special political opportunity for those in the twin cities.

Six of the seven candidates for U.S. Senate will be on the Rudder Auditorium stage at Texas A&M University for a forum sponsored by several local organizations.

Spokeswoman Susan Law says it’s important for the candidates to see a large audience.

Law noted last November’s election of Bill Flores as an example of the weight Republicans carry in the Brazos Valley.  She believes Monday’s forum is another way for local voters, regardless of party affiliation, to demonstrate their interest.

Only David Dewhurst is not expected to attend. Law says speculation points towards videos on the website of opponent Ted Cruz.

Monday night’s forum starts at 6:00 p.m. Doors at Rudder Auditorium open at 5:15.  There is no admission charge.

The forum can be heard live on News/Talk 1620 WTAW. Fans of the Aggie Hour can hear that show on Sportsradio 1150 The Zone.
